On Spontaneous Sunday Stamping last night we created two beautiful cards using the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing folder/Dies. We had lots of participation, which I LOVE! Every Sunday we pop on FB Live and stamp wit you! You can join us here at 7:30 pm next Sunday!
How to recreate a card
First, we started with this gorgeous card I received for my Birthday from my sweet friend Lari. I instantly fell in love with the layout she used. Plus I LOVE Black & White with a pop of color.
When I receive a card and I want to recreate it but don’t have the measurements the first thing I do is grab my ruler. A clear ruler is best, so much easier to read. I grab a piece of scrap paper and jot down the measurements of all the layers, then I start creating. Sometimes this is all I need to get started on a design and it may not even look anything like the original card but… it gets my creativity going.
Recreation
Here is the card we designed based off of Lari’s card.
As I mention in the video your card doesn’t have to be exactly like the original. I love how we used that great layout and crated a completely new card. We used Merry Merlot for our base, then Basic Black and the Sweet Talk DSP. The beautiful gold heart was made using the Bouquet of Love Hybrid. I cut the Gold foil at 4”x4” because I knew I could use the negative space for another card.
Second card
Here is the lovely card we came up with using the negative piece. Now, don’t be sad, I know I used the retired Gold Vellum (oops). Instead you can be happy I showed you a way to use the beautiful Gold Vellum. Lol
