Travel with Me!

Sorry about the late posts, connectivity in the wild of Alaska is more scarce than bears!

Day 3
We arrived in Juneau today and Puff and Me enjoyed the day with Lisa Marie. We walked the town and enjoyed the unusual sunny hot day. we saw multiple bald eagles,(they have a population of over 10000), so seeing them was often. The bus ride to whale watching took us down a highway which is known for eagles to be perched on the street lights.

Nugget Falls
Orcas

Humback

Whale watching was awesome. Our captain found some orcas, and they say that they are only seen about 10% of the time. So we hit the jackpot and found a pod of 8 orcas that we followed for over 30 mins. We then went looking or Humpback’s and we soon spotted them and stayed watching them for about 30 min. On the way back to the port, we spotted a lone eagle on some rocks.

 Overall day 3 was great.

Day 4
This was a little farther north in a small town called Skagway.

I was  excited about a Yukon train ride to White Pass and found out later Lisa Marie was not so excited.

We saw some beautiful landscape and got some great history of the area during the gold rush. The train was an old narrow gauge rail service that only runs for tourist today. We traveled to white pass and then returned down the mountain. We walked the town and ate pizza at the local saloon and  brothel named The Red Onion. After lunch we mailed over 60 postcards to all our Stampin friends.

Day 5
We sailed all night and at 4 am showed up in one of the many arms of Tracy Fjord.

The ship found a glacier and we approached to within 1 mile of the face. We saw a humpback whale on the way in and on the way out. The ship was small enough that we sat spinning in place for over an hour. We got to actually see some ice break off and fall into the water, and the floating ice was just spectacular. I never thought ice could be so blue, clear, and or dirty based on where on the glacier it broke off.

Day 6
We left the glacier and sailed to Victoria, British Columbia–Canada. Here we visited the butterfly gardens

and the old cement plant limestone quarry known as Buchart Gardens. Beautiful flowers and landscape all day here, and we overloaded Lisa Marie’s allergies.

Day 7, we actually just sailed across the bay, docked in Seattle and start the travel back home. We left the boat at 7 am on day 7 and did not arrive home till 11pm. The trip was great, and we thank you for your support all year long. We are looking forward to next year in Greece, and I am planning a mascot to take along for this trip as well. We were told that the 2020 incentive trip will be to Maui, and this is a trip that both Lisa Marie and I are looking forward to. Expect to see more blogs, more stamps and more cards this year. The new holiday catalog is awesome and we will be getting some of the items beginning in August. I think you will all love the Christmas bundles being offered and the DSP is really great. Thanks for reading and following us.
